I am looking for a project and I thought a Gattling would be fun. RG-G has plans for a .22 rimfire, but I think .223 would be just about the same work and more fun in the end even though it costs more to feed. Has anyone built the RG-G and what about scaling it up to a larger caliber?

I am working on one using modified 10/22 barrels at their original length instead of RGG's 12" and other mods, but it is going to take a long time to finish.

Yeah, I've thought about scaling it up to 223, but I think it might hammer itself to death pretty quick or lock up due to springy action lockup at the point of firing.

In the RGG design the firing barrel does not really lock up with the rear plate, but depends on the mass of the barrel cluster to keep headspace.

Several folks on Pvt. Ryan's site have written about the RGG on the .22 forum.

Thanks POGO,
I go now to Ryan's site to check it out. Another thing I can't seem to get out of my head is belt feed with links. I think even rimfire could be linked with a simple plastic item...[beer]
