In a few threads I've noticed people mentioning that a pistol must be less than 50 ounces?  I'm not familiar with that law...  so what does that mean for some of the large frame large caliber revolvers, and bolt action hunting pistols that weigh more than 50 oz?  Is there something more to this?

Thanks,
Shawn

The short answer is that bolt actions and revolvers are not semi's. Semiautomatic pistols are more "evil" and as such have more rules applied to them.

Yup.  They don't look like "traditional" semi auto pistol like the 1911, P220, Hi Power and so on.  The politicans made the call and labled them as a no-no.  The main point is the magazine well is outside the pistol grip I think.
