I purchased the parts below for a project. It's a 19" (cut down from a 20") DPMS 1:7 Gov't profile.

It doesn't come with a sight tower, but I'd like to add a plain gas block since I plan to use this as a scoped hunting upper.

What gas block would fit this barrel? Or do I need to wait until the upper is in my hands and measure the OD first? Thanks for any info.

I thought about getting that one myself! Should be a 0.75" diameter at the gas port if I'm not mistaken. DPMS has plain gasblocks that size for $29.95.

Any .750 block should work.

I've had good results using armalite's steel weaver rail blocks.  They clamp on very securly (rather then using set screws) and give you the option of clamping on a front sight.
