I used a few patches soaked in CLP. Let the oil sit for an hour, then wipe off the excess with a dry cloth until it's not wet to the touch.

Get some Breakfree CLP. Comes in either bottles or spray can. I just sprayed the stock and rubbed it in with a dark cloth and let it sit as BWhalen stated.

I've used Armorall (the plastic conditioner used in detailing cars) to put a nice finish on the stock and HG

Armor-all, CLP, WD40, silicone or anything else. I leave mine gray and they end up turning black as they are cleaned and wiped down after awhile.

As a matter of personal taste, I oil my stock every other time I clean my weapon. It's probably not necessary, but my stock gets kinda parched and a man would never let his best friend suffer from thirst. [devil]
