Maybe I'm slow or something but I'm confused.  This being my first build I have read a ton of info on this board to help me along.  I have an A1/C7 upper and wanted to change the A1 aperature to an A2 aperature as many recommend.  I ordered a new A2 aperature and, Suprise, it doesn't fit. It's  not threaded so the existing screw won't fit.  ht, Probably

A link if this has been covered or any help would be appreciated

Quoted:
A standard A2 aperature should screw in without any problem.  I have done this for several of my A1 uppers.

Given the alignment is close enough. The A-2 is wider, not as much windage to zero when mounted in a A-1 upper. If your A-1 shot with the sight centered [best case], The A-2 will work [nicely].
Toss the defect and get a sight with threads. Also, look at the quality of the apperature before mounting. Some are poorly made and will offer poor optical performance.

This blows. hinking.gif I thought it should work.  Thanks for the feedback, guess I'll send it back or maybe just do with the A1 sights for a while.  Hell, I havn't even fired my new toy yet.
