Has anyone ever tried using tennis racket tape or something similar to hold a tape switch onto a VFG?

They have different levels of tackiness and it seems like it would be able to stand up to heat and sweat pretty well.

do you mean on the hand side or the handle side?

on the part that contacts the hand you can get all different types from electrical tape smooth to a very tacky/gummy finish.
