I recently brought my first ar-15 and got the surefire quad rail on it. I also got a light mount (First Samco) along with a Pentagon x3 light. However, the first samco light mount doesn't work for the Pentagon x3 light. Anyone know which mount works for the rail?

The FAS2 Fobus mounts do a very poor job with aluminum bodied lights. You can go with a std. 1" ring mount or the Vltor CK mount for starters but if you want something similar to the FAS2 then the TDI Arms BK2 mount will work -

I have the Pentagon X3 and L3, and I run both of them in a Daniel Defense mount. There are two versions of the DD mount, one uses the large thumbscrew, while the other uses an allenhead screw. The allenhead version is cheaper, and is fairly new. I run the X3 on my duty carbine, and the L3 on my training carbine.

Hey Stickman,
I went to your site (Tactical Solutions) and brought the Vltor mount, it was a bit cheaper than the daniel defense one. I hope it's good quality.

Here is an X3 in a set of one inch rings on the 3-o-clock rail.

Here's an X3 in a Viking Tactics mount on the top rail.

I'm assuming you want to operate the light with your thumb.

If you want the best...get the LaRue offset light mount. $89.00

Not cheap...just the best!
