Who has the best 123 batteries for cheap?   I usually order a box of 72 once a year and it's coming time again.   Surefire raised their price by about $30 on the box.  I'm wondering if there's a comparable battery that costs less.    I am not interested in cheap chinese crappy batteries, I want surefire quality or better.    If I have to I'll suck up the price increase and buy the surefires.

dang, that was a big jump, that sucks.

Guess I'll have no problem using my LED's now.

Bad move on surefire, as LED's get better, they raise the prices on their 123's

The Surefire website has two battery options. 12 for $21 or 72 for $126. That's $1.75 each which is what it's been for a long time.

Crud.  Had I known that big a jump was coming I would've ordered a couple dozen.

Wasn't there another flashlight manufacturer (Pentagonlight?) that was selling them cheap?

Before the '06 price increase on batteries it was $1.25 each / $15 per dozen.

Damn, your right. Sorry for the confusion. Do they still have free shipping for orders over $100?

Yep, that is a much better price than the surefire.  I am kicking myself for not ordering them last month.  But what is up with Pentagon and the $10 shipping charge?

ETA:  What is up with Pentagon not using a secure checkout page?  That just did the deal for me.  I started to enter my CC info and noticed that it wasn't SSL Secured.  I then called them and they said their computers were down.  I think the battery gods are against me.

www.amondotech.com has cells at $1 each plus shipping.  The newer cells (what they are selling) have outperformed Surefire cells in the tests run on Candlepowerforums.  I am working on the first dozen I bought to try out, working great so far.

The test seen here show some performance at 2amp draw from random test cells.  The Titanium and Battery station cells both did very well.
