Does anyone know of a light I can mount on my AR that will give me a usable beam out to 100yds.  I've got a few varmints that only come out at night on the other side of my lake.  It's about 100yds to the other side.  I could see the area just fine with my scope, but I need some light.  Do I just need higher lumens or something else?

Thanks

A 9 volt system with the high output 225 lumen lamp should suffice. Especially if you're using a powered optic which gathers light.

Surefire 9volt  225 lumen...With the addition of a turbo head bezel is what I use.

Thanks Guys.
I was wondering about those "Turbo Head Bazels".  What exactly do they do?

If you buy the m4 devastator you will save money in the long run, you get an extra 40 min. of the high output 225 light and you get it standerd w/ the turbo head

Or if you're on a budget...

Any of the quality 6 and 9 volt flashlights that have an adjustable beam (Streamlight, Applied Laser) can be used without the "super bezel" stuff because the beam can be adjusted from SPOT to FLOOD simply by turning the existing bezel.

OF course the others are brighter, but I use a simple Streamlight Scorpion to see across a 13 acre field on a regular basis looking for Armadillos.

Why stop at the 9v?  Get the M982 12v with turbo head.

I just bought a M981su  and it is good for a lot more than 100 yards. I was just playing around with it in back of my house and with the low output bulb I was lighting things up 300 away yards easily.
