I believe I already know the answer to this question but I have a chance to purchase some PAQ-4C's from an overseas source. Nice price BTW. I already have several interested parties who would like one, but they are out of the country. Importing rules are different then exporting rules. Do I need an export license to sell these overseas once I receieve them? If so I'm probably not going to get involved. I had planned on contacting a federal agency before I asked here but I know there is a wealth of knowledge and experience here if I ask.

Is it a limited supply source or would you be willing to share it with your brothers in arms here? [;)]

So let me get this straight.  You are buying PAQ-4C from overseas source and you are reselling it to people overseas. If its one
time deal then I think its too much trouble
for you.

You need to contact US State Department Office of Defense Trade Controls.
1) You need to register with them and you'll
be assigned a number.
2) Fill out appropriate forms and apply for import/export license.  Once your application is approved, you are free to export.  This
process normally takes about 3 months.
Give the copy of that approved license to your freight forwarder.

You have to be selective who you sell to.
You have to be sure who you are selling it to.
Is it an individual?  Is it a company?  Is it a government entity?  Can our technology fall into wrong hands (ex. rogue nations, terrorists)?

Read here to see whats regulated by Office of Defense Trade Controls.  Read the munition list.

Here's the list of forms you might need to
export or import.

Thanks Graffiti, you are right. It's a one time deal. I have no interest in trying to find out who's a good guy or bad guy. Making a few bucks is not worth that much hassle. I knew you guy's would be in the know. Again, thanks.
