Anyone else wish Magpul made their MS2 sling a little bit wider and slightly firmer..

My only 2 issues with the sling after an all day carbine class were that if the material was a bit wider it wouldnt have dug into my shoulder as much.
The other is that the material is so soft that it easily twists up during transitions and then at that point is hard to get flatened back out..
These are not deal breakers for the sling yet just small issues I had..

Am I the only one??

Yep, I agree. It needs another .5" in webbing width, and to be stiffer, so it doesn't bind up in the quick-release mechanism.

I'm starting to feel the same way. The sling does twist to easy, and it's a pita sometimes to align.

Same here. I've tangled the webbing/strap up in the buckle thingymajig a couple of times. Wider is better.

Not sure why, but why the adjustment loop is easy to pull down and a pain to pull up.

That is because when you pull down you are making it longer and adding material.. When you pull up you are making it shorter and the straps that go around your body all move at once causing drag. Add in the fact that they are tangled makes it even worse...

Might get a sling pad, maybe it will keep it from twisting so much.

My problem is i cant even get one.. I'm about to throw in the towel for any of Magpuls products. I cant ever get any of their products. I got the ubr for 350 on ebay and if it wasnt for that i wouldnt have got anything. Trying to hang in there

I agree. I just did a class with the sling and it worked well but I think it would have been more comfortable if it was a bit wider. I was complaining about this to another student.

It is still a great sling though.

Gear Sector ASP. I have one mounted on my patrol shotgun. If I didn't get my paws on the MS2, I would have purchased another ASP sling. I still might do so. I'm still up in the air about the MS2. And no I'm not selling mine..

Funny you should say your not selling yours. I may have a near new one with asap plate available shortly. I traded some magpul mags for it. Not sure If I will use it or not

good to read some field tests of the ms2 sling, because on paper it looks great, and in the demo vid of course it looks great, but I trust real peoples experiences anyday. Im nearing the end of my patience on this sling as well, and might go with the ASP, but i dont like the clips they use, which have to be left dangling on the gun. Would be perfect with the similar gator or HK type clips

1. Auxiliary adapter for standard slotted sling mounts.
2. HK adapter for ring style sling mounts.
3. QD adapter for machined qd socket style mounts.
4. Auxiliary adapter can also be used to interface any type of non standard component such as a snap shackle.

Same width although the ASP is made from a different, more abrasion resistant material.

Due to the way in which the ASP sling is constructed it does NOT pull on the deltoid muscle as much as the MS2.

May I ask if you are a casual hobby shooter, a regular serious competitor, or a professional gun toter (much time with a weapon on a sling)?

My personal observations about slings in general is that each of these three groups have different needs, experiences, and/or expectations.

Personally, no matter how appropriate a sling design is (and I do like the concept of the ASP for example), I shy away from a sling with plastic fastex type buckles. I have seen too many broken plastic sling and gear "hardware" during my career and prefer metal "hardware". I have seen the plastic "hardware" break when hung up on something, with heavy use from "fatigue" and am concerned the plastic could fail at the worst possible time. Murphy is a persistent concern!
