I just got a GG&G single poing sling plate for an A2 stock off ebay.  It has the plate a little spacer ring and screw.  My question is (forgive me for being stupid) do I have to use the small spacer ring or can I just do without it?  Thanks.

While I can't speak directly for the GGG unit, we include a spacer with the A1/A2 Burnsed Loop to extend the bearing surface of the stock extension tube to the buttplate.  Without that spacer, you increase the chance of cracking the buttplate by overtightening the screw.
