What I am looking for in some shooting gloves are:
1) warmth, so that my fingers getting cold doesn't discourage me from target shooting during the winter (different from hunting where you wouldn't need to have your finger on the trigger so much)

2) mobility, so that the gloves do not get in the way of the trigger etc

3) ability to get wet.  I used to have 2 pairs -- nomex flight gloves, and some leather shooting gloves...and I used them both in the rain and the leather got destroyed, so I definitely need something that is OK to get wet

I was looking at the Blackhawk SOLAG gloves here http://www.blackhawkindustries.com/uploads/product_images/8063-66_1.jpg

any opinions?

These might work for you.  I use a pair on duty and like them a lot.  They cost about $20.

Mechanix Mpact Stealth.  Only washable glove I know of that will stay together and not fall apart.  I will have to give those Hatch gloves a try but every Hatch I ever had bled black on my hands.  Do these do that?

DevL, I've had the same problem with Hatch's leather gloves, but I don't remember having that problem with the neoprene ones.  I only wear them when it's cold and, well you know this is Texas, it's been a while.  I will check to make sure.

I checked, not a problem with the neoprene.

IMO, the SOLAG gloves are too padded and bulky and give very little warmth. i never use mine.

i have both cutoff and full cuff Hatch Operators that i wear now. Rather favor those for feel and they've held up well. Soggy when wet, but neither the black or OD has bled on me. They don't do too much for warmth either though.

I second the Hatch Gloves, they do not wear out as fast as the blackhhawks.

stuh505,
I've used a number of gloves for target shooting, range work and in the field toting a rifle. Ran into the same problems.

Here is the best of what I've found ... they're all pretty good.

Glacier Gloves 821BK:

Neoprene, pre-curved, slit-finger design for your trigger finger and thumb (very handy when shooting a long-range rifle!). Lightly lined with fleece, so your tootsies are nice 'n' cushy.[baby]

Southwest Motorsports Hi-Impact II glove:

Flexible, well-fitting, grippy, fine in warm weather; also sans loud logos, unlike other mechanics-type gloves. Check out their Web site for their other gloves, too.

Hatch Shorty Operator Gloves:

Outdoor Research Gripper gloves:

Fleece gloves are great for cold weather but most lack grip. Not these. Good for in the snow; they lack dexterity for shooting, though, in my experience.

The Glaciers are what I use during cold and/or rainy weather. The Southwest gloves are what I use in warm weather in the field.

I had the long "aviator" style Hatch Operator gloves and they were OK; not real durable and not nearly as grippy as the Southwest gloves. Plus, not being an aviator, [jump]the long cuffs were a nuisance. This new shorter style would be an improvement, but I prefer the Southwest gloves.
