16" barrel, 168 GMM.  Which reticle would match better, the .223 horseshoe, or the .308 red chevron?

Is the TA11H-308 an option? Considering it is designed around 168gr gmm bullet.

I have the TA11h Green horse shoe on my 20 bushmaster Hunter .308.. if I had it to do over i would get the green cross hair version or the amber.  My eyes pick it up better.. with GM168. Its pretty much on the marks at indicated ranges for the "20 barrel...

This is a lightweight build, so I'd rather stick with the TA33.  It is ~1/2lb lighter than the TA11.   I realize I'm limiting myself with low magnification, but I'm not finding any alternatives (so far).

16" AR10 "lightweight" build???

I would go TA31 or at least TA11 for the extra FOV and magnification. They don't weigh that much more. The TA33 is alright, but it's like looking through a milkshake straw compared to the TA31.

I built my AR10 using as much light stuff as possible. 15" SLR handguard weighs 10.3 oz with barrel nut. All v7 enhanced lightened lower parts. A JP LMOS BCG.

But I went with a 5lb 18" bull profile rainier arms barrel and TA11.

She's heavy but in a balanced from head to toe kind of way. With a loaded KAC SR25 mag she sits perfectly level in my garage for as long as I want. Best LR308 I could ever ask for.

Yeah, this is a V7 Harbinger rifle.  It weighs just over 6lb without accessories.  I looked at the TA31, but from what I understand....the short eye relief is NOT advisable on a .308.  No reticle options for one either.  The TA11 has 308 reticles, but the .5x magnification increase comes at a HUGE weight penalty.

You don’t want the 31 on a large-frame unless you hate your eyebrow. Normally I have a huge 11 bias in these cases, but in yours I agree the 33 is the optimal choice. I have a 33 sitting around just for whenever I get around to picking up a POF Rogue or the like, for the same reason. The BDC will depend on the load and barrel length moreso than caliber, but the standard .308 BDC is probably close enough. Honestly depending on load the .223 reticle is probably fine if you zero a bit off. My 33 I have reserved is a 5.56 G-H reticle, it’ll be fine

With strelok pro or any decent ballistic calculator app you can essentially run any optic on any rifle, the only thing that would come into effect is if you tried to use bdc reticles then the corresponding distance inside the reticle would be off but still doable.
