i'm looking into getting a nice scope for my ar-varmint rifle.  I have a 24" SS barrel on a flattop receiver with FF tube and haris bipod.  I'm leaning twards a super sniper scope but was wandering what else is out there around the 300$ range that might be better scope for my $.   thanks guys for any help.

Nikon Buckmasters are nice, Nikko Sterling Nighteaters are quite clear, and some of the Leupold VX-II can be had around that price range.

What kind of reticle are you looking for?

IMHO the SS is the way to go for $300.

I would suggest the Nikon Buckmaster.  the SS is a fixed 10x and that is hard to get on target quickly if you are close up.  With the Buckmaster you can carry it on the lowest power for fast targeting, but turn up as needed.  the far away shots have time to adjust the power, the up close usually don't

Midway has Buckmaster 6-18 Mil-dots on sale for $300. For the money they are top-notch.

does the SS or the buckmaster come with any type of range adjustments.  not sure what it would be called.  I would like to be able to ajust the scope from 100 yards to 300 yards and so on.

You're talking target knobs, and I doubt it at that price.  What do I know, though?

The 6-18 buckmaster comes with an additional set of target knobs and a sunshade.

The Super Sniper is the best for under $300, IMO. Fixed power but you'll get your target knobs, and a great quality scope.

I just bought a Burris Fullfield II 3-9x40mm. Made in USA and it's a nice, crystal clear piece of glass. $209.
