Well with a certain "soft mount," you wouldn't even need to take it off in order for it to shift!

What "soft mount" for the Remington 700 are you referring to?

For that matter I suspect some might be interested to see the "tested" Rem 700 mount.

Hey Mark...

Steel rail or aluminum rail?
Were there any adjustments made to the throw levers during the test?

A true torture test is to send me all of your stuff, and I will give them to my 2 year old son, and if he cant destroy it or throw it out of sinc.....nobody can.

Bet your fingers are tired as hell.

Mark,

do you just sell the rail and rings for the Rem 700? or is it only part of the STOMP package?

That's great (seriously). If my old sh!t, not tacticool stuff ever fails me, I'll give you a ring. I've had years of good service from my old gear so far with no signs of a problem though.

My shooting buddy got what I think was the last Larue picatinny scope rail for a Rem 700 SA.

What is this new rail/mount you speak of?

You do realize that the '03-A3 was tacticool too ... once-upon-a-time.

ML

True, but it was quite clearly improved upon, not dumped because it was so "last week". I know you make some high end gear. I've seen the pics. As I said, if my old stuff ever fails, I may well give you a ring.

We're making them again ... they're going out the door with the S.T.O.M.P.

Long and Short action...

ML

So how does someboyd like me who doesn't need the whole STOMP get just an extended rail and a set of 30mm rings for my LTR?

Outstanding info.

Of course, I and many others already know Larue make GREAT GEAR.

Now...
About that MARINE comment.....

It was one of our 7075 700 rails.

So I thought  the Marines were THE torture test.  I've heard that if you locked a Marine in a room overnight with nothing but a bowling ball...that by the next morning the bowling ball would either be busted, lost, or ...  pregnant.

Semper Fi to you Marines out there.

ML

ETA - And no adjustments were made during the torture test.

IIRC, it was 3 ball bearings in a padded room.  1 would be broken, 1 missing, and the Marine would claim he was never issued the third.

Are there any concerns with creating a recess on the upper receiver of an AR15 if you were to remove and replace it 600 times.

I have zero concerns, but I can't answer that for you, because it's a subjective thing.

One man's "little black smudge" is another man's "oh my f*cking gawd, my safe queen is trashed".  We've seen both ends of the spectrum.  YMMV.

Mark LaRue

I was just wondering if it would affect repeatability.  I really don't care how it looks

Mark,

Do you recommend that when using your products, that all mating surfaces be completely dry or do you recommend any grease?

I've been using your BUIS but it never really comes off so I've never really thought much about it.  But if you are running some optics that you do intend to remove and replace periodically, is it a good idea to use a light application of grease or should you just make sure everything is dry and free of grit?
