looking at purchasing one of the new NXS 2.5-10  X  24  scope.  Wanted to know if anyone had any experience with this model yet, and if there would be any other better options for a $1,000 scope. Did not know if the Nikon tactical, Leupold tactical, or Super Sniper would be better or cost less. Wanted  a  scope that I could use for close and long range use.  Looked like the best of both worlds.  Any suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated.  A lot of money to spend without knowing how well it will perform.  Thanks

Nightforce makes a very good product that will be hard to beat for the price. Which reticle are you looking at?

I've got one with the NPR-2 reticle.   Only minor downside of this ranging reticle is the tick marks change value at different magnifications.  at 10x, the vertical tick marks are two minutes, at  5x they are now 4 minutes apart.  So if you are using the reticle for holdovers,  you have to be aware of what magnification you are set.

Very happy with it.   At low magnification, easy and quick to aquire a target, good light gathering capabilities even for the small objective.  At high magification it's very clear and no distortion

The illumination  runs on a standard 2032 lithium cell.  (Note to self:  the battery will not last two weeks turned on in the gun safe)   Carry a spare.

The IOR 2X12-32 is a good option for the same price.
