You might want to search the forum on the Nightforce.  Lot's of pics and positive comments from the likes of Wes at MSTN.  I hope to get the model your reference once my SPR is complete.  Good luck.

www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=7&f=23&t=221267 is a good place to start.

I just got a FedEx from MSTN with an NF 2.5-10x24 with the NP-R2 reticle.   Wes is an upstanding businessman.   He answered all my questions and shipped when he promised.  He also mounted the scope true and level in a Larue scope mount for gratis.

The NF is a rock solid piece of engineering -- bright, clear and robust.  This will be all the scope I need for years to come.   Pricey, but this is a case where you get what you pay for.

I had been using an inexpensive scope but recoil from my .308 was literally shaking the scope to pieces.  I finally had to epoxy the front lens rings in place.   (... it is a $30 scope but it will have a new happy home on my .22)

I'm a happy camper.

I've got a new SPR (going to the range for the first time today) and an looking at the NF 2.5-10x24 with the NP-R2.

I will sometimes use this gun for coyotes at night (spotlights) and in low-light conditions.

Any comments on the light gathering qualities?

A better comaprison would be the almost released 1-4X Nightforce scope instead of the 2.5-10X version if you want to compare to an SN4.

Thanks guys, I should be making my decision pretty soon. I actually have the funds already set aside..decisions...decisions..

Next question which reticle on the NF is best, as I've no experience with NF's at all. Thanks again.

Unless you are married to the mildot, I prefer the NPR2 for precision.  The reticle lines are finer so the target is obscured less.
