I have never owned any. Today at a gunshow a fellow had a Trijicon RX01-11 w/Weaver mount for $299.00.

When I went back it was sold. It looked nice, was compact and has no battery.

BUT, Is that what I want?

I want to mount it on a AR15, 14.5 Barrel, VLTOR Stock, flat top. Will be used for plinking and some varmint hunting (coyoty within 50 yards).

I am also cosidering the EOTECH 552 or the Aimpoint 7000L2X.

Any suggestions appreciated. Also which dealer would you reccomend
Thank You.

I've tried:
Eotech,
Aimpoint ML2,
Reflex,
Acog.

I say save another $100 or so, and go with Aimpoint. All metal construction, simple controls, NO fuzzy reticle like on Eotech.

I only recoomend Eotech if you can't afford $400 on Aimpoint+mount. I hate that fuzzy reticle, and tiny rubber buttons on Eotech.

Reflex is 'ok' since it uses no batteries. I'd only buy one if you can find an used one for sub $250. Problem with Reflex is that it has vision oscuring 'blue' tint, and amber reticle is no where as bright as battery powered Aimpoint/Eotech. I found it much difficult to use Reflex due to this blue (with groovy purple haze around the rim) tinted window.

Quoted:
Can't go wrong with either an Aimpoint or EOTech.

It's been a while, isn't it time for someone to say GET BOTH.

Well, I ordered these:

Trijicon RX01NSN Reflex 1x24 4 MOA Special forces
Comes with lens cover, flat top mount, and polarized filter

Aimpoint 7000SC 2x (Short) Black 2 MOA 30mm
FREE Lens caps FREE Rings

My shooting buddie and I will give these a try plinking and hunting. I really like the compact size of the Trijicon, it will be on my short home defense AR. The Aimpoint will be on a AR for targets and hunting. Thanks for the help.
