I have decided to go with an Aimpoint over an Eotech for my M4gery. Can someone explain the differences between the ML2 and the new ML2 2X to this newbie???? Thanks guys!

I'll help you, put up a WTS ad and get rid of it.  (then get an EO-tech)

If you haven't bought yet, its simple just don't, then buy an EO-tech

The 2x is the two power magnified aimpoint, both are ML2's and that means no Night Vision IR settings.

The other is obviously non-magnified.

The 2X is magnified two times, hence the '2X' designation.
The 2x suck and it really defeats the purpose of having a good close combat optic.

For a red dot sight you want zero magnification.

Stick with the ML2.

edited to add: these guys beat me to the punch

I never had an ML2, what does the M2 ruin? a few brightness settings you don't need?

(I never turned mine to full intensity anyway.)

M2 doesn't 'ruin' anything.
M2 has 4 nvd, 6 daylight and 1 extra bright.

Interesting feedback...I'll go with the M2..chances are I will never have a NVD to mount and magnification does defeat the purpose of CQB! Thanks guys

"Stick with the ML2, you will be much happier...."

I thought C4I was implying the Ml2 was better than the M2, and I haven't had a Ml2 so I wouldn't know.

I understand now he was saying the one power was better than the 2x.

I just figure for the extra $40 it's well worth the extra capability.
