That's supposed to be a very good scope, but if you want a little more zoom for those pesky critters at long range, think about the Weaver Grand Slam 6x20x40.  I called SWFA about 18 months ago, told them I wanted a Leupy, and they actually sold me the GS for less than what a less powerful Leupold would have cost.

I've been very happy with the glass, and all of the Leupy owners at my range who look through it seem pretty impressed.  I can't help but think the extra 6x would be useful to you, and it's probably $60 cheaper than the Leupold.

I use the Weaver Grand Slam 6x20x40 to test accuracy on various AR's.Good bang for the buck.

sorry, gotta stick with leupold, for the quality, reticle, target knobs, and side focus. although i must admit weaver makes a nice scope, just not a leupold.

How does the Weaver compare with the Nikon 6-25x44 AO model?

I'm looking for a scope for a 20 inch RRA varmint  and am considering options . . .

(How does the Nikon compare with the leupold originally suggested?)
