It looks to me from photos that the mini-ACOG sits lower than its bigger bretheren...can anyone confirm this? The reason I'm asking: I know the regular ACOGs sit too high to mount on an M-14, but how about a mini? Intriguing, eh? I know, the eye relief on some of the minis can be short, but how about it?

If I am not mistaken its .125" but I could be wrong.  I think thats how much lower it sits than the iron sights and the TA01 and TA31 sit very, very close to iron sight level.  This is in a 19 or 19S mount BTW.

Also, FWIW ANY optic will sit too high on an M14.

Posting at 3:45 AM again Troy?  He said M14 as in M1A the 7.62x51mm rifle, not a Mini 14.  Didnt you say you were gonna stop posting after bedtime? [;)]  LOL!  Im just playing with ya bro.

At the point of getting an ACOG from the family (50th birthday) and have not been able to actually play with one on the rifle (last year just can't talk friends into going first).

Is the 1/8 inch difference in the TA11/TA11D mini-ACOG vs the TA31/TA31a noticable in check weld when using on a carry handle?

Thanks
John

P.S. Also stopped at the triangle vs donut, to the point of have been talking to my dealer on how much we can sell a used ACOG for after I order and try both ;-)

Third voice chiming it the Compact ACOG sits lower.  You'll also notice the flattop adapter for the Comact ACOG sits HIGHER to get the reticule over the front sight.

The TA11/TA11D is actually bigger than the TA31/TA31A; but sits at the same height as the TA31.

Only the compact ACOGS are lower.

Thinking the "only" way is to take a look at the various ACOGs (in a half year have only been able to find TA01s and Relex's of various flavors).

Wonder if the factory has a demo room that one could drop by during a road trip?

Thanks
John
