Mil-Spec vs competition grade, which means military use vs. range use.

ML2 is military spec, uses a 4 MOA dot, and uses a new CET diode which only requires a battery change every few YEARS.

The Comp C uses the CET diode too. The only differences between the Comp C and the ML2 are that the ML2 is more rugged, and waterproof deeper (80 ft vs 7 ft).

I thought that the Comp M and ML were mil-spec until the M2 and ML2 were developed by Aimpoint last year.
Why was the military buying the Aimpoints for if they weren't mil-spec for the last five or so years? |

He is talking about the Comp C vs the ML2. The comp C is build for the competition shooter that require a red dot for their race gun, in this field the C-more can excel. Take this to the rough field enviroment then you get the ML2 which is mil-spec and it is rugged enough to handle the rough and tumble handling of a soldier. this is where Comp C or the horrible C-more can fail in a fire fight.
