Well, I picked up an ACOG the other day and was trying to decide which weapon to use it on.  The gun I play with the most is an SBR AR15 with a .22 conversion.

7.5" barrel and suppressed.

It seemed like overkill for the little gun, but what the heck I shoot it the most.

So, I go out on my backproch to watch my coons feeding and Lo and Behold a skunk comes ambling past the porch.

It took me a second to acquire him, because I was trying to focus too much on the ACOG and not enough on the skunk.

When he cleared the hedges on his return trip, it also took an extra second or two for my brain to get the image of the chevron, and the skunk aligned.

Dead skunk.

Last night I saw a possum in my backyard and grabbed the SBR once again.

It did not take as much thinking this time.  I focused my vision on the moving possum, let my brain locate the optical image from teh ACOG and fired a single round.

Dead Possum.

The possum and skunk were both in a lighted area, I was in shadow, and the chevron was not as 'bright' as I expected, but it did work as designed.

I should have some more target practice on the varmints later this week, and I'll post a pic of the rifle when I get one.
