I have several of the “Colt 7.62x39” AR-15 Mags.  They are only standard Colt AR-15/M16 20 round Mags that have had the butt plate stamped Colt 7.62x39 on them.  Ergo the problem with the Colt AR-15’s chambered for the Russian 7.62x39 round.

You can take any of the standard AR-15/M16 20 round Mags and use it and have the same results without paying a high price for a useless factory Mag.  At present there are several 10 round AR-15 Mags that will work for you.  However, there looks like another delay with C Products scheduled release of their AR 7.62x39 Mags.

Now if you “just” have to have the “Colt Factory” AR-15 Mag in 7.62x39, then I’ll see how many that I have and I’ll let you have them for just $87.00 each plus S&H.  I then will be able to get 3 C Products AR 7.62x39 for my AR.

The Colt Factory 7.62x39 Mags that I have are all 20 round Mags.  The 10 Round Mags that I was referring to are all “After Market” that are well constructed and I have had no issues with.

I don’t think anyone would really pay my price for these Colt Factory Mags.  As I stated, Colt only changed the butt plate and used the standard 20 round M16 Mags.  If you load more than 6 to 7 rounds of 7.62x39 into the Mags you will have problems with FTF & jams.

So you are saying the Colt 7.62 mags hold 20 rounds and do not function?
Still would like to see them, the floor plates, and followers. You never know what someone might pay.
All the Colt 7.62 mags I have are 5 round mags and are very differnet than a 20 round mag. Also the followers are marked 7.62 in mine.

Bluesplayer,
Have seen them on gunbroker, way over priced.  And no they don't work with more that 5 - 7 rounds in them, and not sure you could even get 20 rounds in one.  Sometimes I will take one of my 20 rounders and just load 3 or 4 rounds, it usually works.  Best of luck.  BTW, I believe Artic Wolf knows his way around the 7.62x39 AR platform, I would read his related posts.
Regards,
C1
