I got some used 30 RD Orlites and they have alot of scratches (surface) on the mag bodies.  Is there a way to clean them up?  Can I just steel wool them a bit and paint them with a tough coat type paint or a plastic paint?  Any thoughts?

they're orlites...not to be a dick but...who cares? they are cheap and farely cheesy anyways...typically rebuilding is left to USGI mags

Unless you have a large number of them (over 20 or something) I can't see a reason to mess with refinishing them.  There are now so many good mags available NIW for 12  dollars or less.  The Mag FAQ lists Orlites at the bottom of the acceptable mag rankings.  Someone was selling them on the EE for 5 bucks a pop last week.

Quoted:
Refinishing Orlites is like having a $99 paint job put on a rusty Ford Pinto.  Why bother?

So it will match the Cav lower .

HEY! I have a bunch of Orlites, they work fine and always have. Of all the ones I have bought only 1 has ever failed and it just needed a spring.
