Just so you realize, there won't BE any Orlites or Thermolds. Neither company is still in business.

I didn't know that. How about some history on when and why?

In both cases, the primary military users of these mags (Canada for Thermolds, Israel for Orlites) abandoned them for USGI mags after their experiences in Desert Storm, because the plastic mags failed in the sandy environment while the USGIs worked fine. So, by 1992-3, both countries were buying USGI-type mags (Canada's Diemaco began manufacturing USGI mags for their use), and so there wasn't a market for the plastic mags.
D&D, the American company that created the Thermolds, continued to make mags up to the enactment of the AW ban, but that market dried up, of course, and with no military contracts, there was no business.
Anyway, given that both types are 2nd tier mags, and 1st tier will be available, who cares?
The HK mags are great, BUT they don't fit in most current mag pouches, so that would need to be addressed. They're also VERY expensive, at around $45 each at current LEO prices.
