I bought some aluminum 30-round GI mags at a gun store.  The price was written in magic marker on the side of the magazine.  Any suggestions on how to remove the ink without damaging the finish of the magazine?

Naptha or lighter fluid.

Laquer thinner for sure, it wont take off the anodizing, but might mess-up the teflon if they have the teflon coating.

Well, I don't think your going to remove the teflon from a teflon coated mag, but you might remove the moly-dry film from such a coated mag. Just my 2 cents.

I deal with removing permanent marker all the time at work. Ethyl alcohol takes it off, no sweat. Since it's unlikely you'll have pure grain alcohol on hand, isopropyl rubbing alcohol will do the trick.

Vote #3. Will remove all types of marker, but also some of the finish. Just rub lightly.

Try covering the marked area with WD-40 and letting it soak for a while. May have to repeat a few times. WD-40 shouldn't hurt the mag's finish.
