Picked these up from a friend who does testing on ballistic vests for the industry.
 
The solid steel Frag test rounds in the top right corner are loaded into a test barrel with a loaded blank in the chamber behind them.  Sometimes seen loaded into cases but incorrect. Sizes are .223, 7.62, .50bmg, 20mm

The long plastic test rounds at the bottom contain a sabot and a steel pellet, they are loaded into the barrel. The aluminum pusher plate is loaded into a case which is then loaded into the chamber.  There is a 50bmg on top, a 7.62 with complete sabot, then two different size pellets for the 5.56/.223

In the upper left corner are two new 5.56/.223 projectiles from a new and upcoming company in Florida, solid zinc and solid copper.

Do these projectiles conform to a certain testing standard?

I had never heard of fragment testing based on bullets, I'm guessing they simulate ricochets?

These would conform to the NATOS' STANAG 2920, to test steel fragments at helmets, airplane wind shields, etc... and are the standards used to test weapons effects.  Projectiles would be purchased by companies that would have to meet the frag test requirement.  They would intern load the projectiles themselves, which does not come from LC or WCC.  Its supposed to act as irregular pieces of steel that would have come from much larger projectiles that had exploded near by.  This test is different from the militaries "AP "specs that must be met, that's supposed to be done with the actual AP projectile that is necessary to do the certification for the testing.
