im going on a 2 day camping/fishing trip tomorrow, and my friend said there are some wild animals on his property down south in wa, were we are going. and i wanted to know what type of ammo/grain of bullet i should go buy for defence in my AR. i have pmc fmj for target, but what should i get?

Are you planning on using it strictly for self defense or is there a good chance you would take some game with it as well?

coyotes, bears, cougars, other stuff.. just want to be prepaired if i go take a piss at night and something comes after me. i got a streamlight on my ar for night. but i need something that will take down any potential threats.

LE127 OO Buck and a Mossberg 590A1. Seriously, a 30 mag w/ M855 should cover any critter besides a Grizz.

69 or 75gr OTM/BTHP or a Federal 55/62gr bonded bullet.



There is a big difference between ammo you'd use for a human/cougar and a bear.
