Well, I've been living off my ammo stores for several years, and until recently wasn't aware how bad Peak Ammo has gotten!
 So, 3,120 rounds of Guat 5.56mm, 2,000 rounds of S&B .45 ACP ball, and couple boxes of .300 RUM    I can sleep a little more soundly tonight.

So I'm not the only one who goes to sleep with thoughts of ammo.
There is something soothing about a big-ass crate of ammo.

I would grab some Guat but I'm working on Peak 50.... Got around 125 more rounds to load before I'm through my first 1k of primers and have to order more, then I can clean up the rest of the 600-800 rounds of brass and supplies I have waiting to load.

holy hell, how many rounds does one of those 20mm cans hold of .50bmg? I have one about 1/3 full of flavored stuff guess i'll post my modest stash... my 7.62 and 8mm stash, including the new Port and Aussie... the cans on top shelf are IMI and LC, cans on top of the cabinet are my FN and Talon .50bmg  and my cans of loaded ammo and projectiles for the big guy   |

Actually, they are MK19 cans for the 40mm belt fed grenade launcher. 20mm cans are even wider, the MK19 can is the same width as a 50cal. can. And to answer your question, 312 rounds per MK19 can. I'm about to fill my 2nd one of them this weekend before I have to go back to filling ordinary dinky little 50 cans. I'm looking at a move here soon so I'm trying to load up all that I can for fear of not having enough space to set up a reloading bench. The MK19 cans are helping me free up 50cal cans for other chamberings and condense. Here's MK19 cans loaded with Wolf, somewhere around 2400 rounds of wolf per can. The loose stuff is reloads using pulled M193 55grn, 2200+ rounds per can in those.  And it's pretty funny how everyone's closests start looking similar after awhile. Long ago I had to move the ammo cans, broke them up between the garage and my room. Heaviest shit is in garage, lighter stuff in the house. Closet has something else stacked in it though,

If I had been speculating on what would of been going on with ammo sooner, I would of bought 10 cases of South African to turn around and sell 1/2 of it off after 2 years of hording it.
Most of my 5.56 that I have, 6kish rounds, was bought when you could get Q3131A and XM193 delivered for like 175 per 1k. I'm happy I have what I do, no way in hell I'm gonna waste that stuff when I've got reloads and wolf. But man, the damn 7.62, I've got 2k of Aussie F4 that I'm looking and not really wanting to shoot now because I have nothing to replace it with. I really wish I just horded 1500 bucks worth of it to turn around and then sell off later. I've missed these opportunities a few times, now what I'm spying is 8mm Mauser and 7.62x54R, thinking 5-10 cases of one or the other aught to do me. 2-3 cases to keep for myself and the rest to horde and sell off at a later date when it too dries up. |

Nope, no discount. A crate is 52 boxes. Also, the price jumped from $5.95/box to $6.60/box today. That still works out to $220/1k which is a decent deal right now. It'll probably be completely gone within a few days. |
