No. Most Chinese are quite slim. The 62 grain will go through them and do no more damage than a 22. Got to get some hollow points that expand quickly. I don't think we will be doing any CQB on our own soil. Now zombies are another thing.

M855, all the way. M855 was designed to fight well equipped and armored opponents like the Russians and Chinese. Regular units of the Chinese Army are as well equipped/protected as our own soldiers. Im not sure how your AR15 is going to defend you against a Chinese SLBM or ICBM, but if it makes you sleep better at night, by all means....prepare. It would have to get pretty harry for a forigen army to occupy American ala "Red Dawn" and your best bet would be to flee. Even in the face of a strong and worthy adversary, the US military would ultimatly win. Our military superiority is such that we may take a small beating here and there, but we will ultimatly win. As Rome tought us, this wont always be so....but it will be for our lifetimes, god willing. Raise your kids right, and it will be true for thier lifetimes too.

It is interesting you bring up Rome, since we are the Rome of today. Not that it is a bad thing. But since you bring up history it would be wise to remember that EVERY great civilzation in time, let me repeat myself, every civilization in time, as been destroyed and one point or another. When will it happen to us? May not happen by a military, but a pandemic could make that happen very easily. And if a pandemic did hit, China, Russia and Iran (LOL the triad we are starting to see today) would probably become the new super power just becuase of the population alone that would survive.
(It would still be tough for a red dawn scenario just because of logistics though.) |

I don't think it REALLY matters which one, so I would go with whichever one you can get 4 billion rounds of.
Them's a lot of potential invaders over there  ETA: I don't remember where I heard this, but I heard tell that if China started marching infantry across the Pacific Ocean (figuratively speaking), there would be a never-ending line of marching troops heading for our West coast, and the line would never stop because they could breed fast enough to keep 'em coming indefinitely

The Chinese would make a formidable adversary. But they simply don’t have the navy to land and supply a huge army from across the Pacific. But the Canadians…
Up there in their frozen wasteland, sharpening their axes, and enviously watching our warm and sunny land. I expect the Canadian hordes to come storming across the border any day now. Either Canadians or Zombies… Possibly Canadian Zombies. Nothing is worse than Canadian Zombies. |

Possibly true, but I've found that all one has to is dig a very deep hole, put a wood building over it and put up a sign that says "free beer and hooters" and they will file in the door and fall to their death. If they start to get smart about it you hang a sign that says free ax sharpining also. |

Don't worry about loading up for treat from China - Most of our industrial stuff is going over there and so is electronics that would be the key for our military machine - Hey, alot of the hardware is also might be open to "global economy" competition. We are relying on them and soon there will come a time when they might use that industrial might to upgrade their military. Only this time there will be no industrial power here to stop them like we had during world war 2.
Scary thought! Keep your ammo to defend against your own people when SHTF to protect you and your family. Recent mother nature events shows us even when that happens, our arms and right to protect ourselves is taken away will the bad people are not affected by it.  |

i also seem to remember the chinese placing a handful of orders with the russians for nuclear powered aircraft carriers and submarines, which would give them a better promise of making the trip. I don't remember exactly where i read it but it was in an article i read for a foreign policy class a short while back. ...just a thought though. still we do have some tempting resources which might prove handy down the road. I just need.....let's see 4 billion - SHTF stock... a bit more ammo.hug.gif

I prefer cluster bombs. Lots & lots of cluster bombs. I can't imagine a conventional munition that's more demoralizing against troops in the open.

All the ammo in the world won't help. They are doing it from within via ilegal immigrants and gradual erosion of our rights. The war is over already, barring a fuck-up by the Chinese, Islam or Mexico.
Isolated and bloody battles will continue, though. |

Since we are talking about the best round for smoke checking some Chinese, Horde some 7.62mm for an *insert your favorite MBR here*. My Father In-Law was in the 1st Marine Divison in the Korean War and said nary a Chinaman got up after he put a 7.62 in them. Or if you got one,  , he said a captured burp gun does a good job up close when they are overrunning you.
