It means that it's basically good ammo, held to high standards for battle. Normally nato ammo is some of the best ammo you can get. There are specs for ammo and the nato spec is there so different countries can produce the same ammo that will work in any countire's weapons.

Should be edited. NATO ammo is the most RELIABLE you can get.
It's not always the most accurate, and frequently not. |

I was thinking of the radway green ammo of a few years go which was nato spec but was down loaded for their rifles. It tended to make some of our rifles stroke. Normally, it is the best ammo you are going to buy. |
