Hey guys, I saw this at sportsmans guide.  Do you have any idea of the origon.  The prices isn't bad, but 144 grain is kind of weird for surplus.  They do sell the scary Indian stuff also, so I don't think it that.  Any thoughts

Dunno, tagged. Hopefully it's not Indian or Paki .308.

I wanted to ask this also.  I know that the Aussie .308 was loaded with a 144 grain round, maybe it's just loose and they threw it in an ammo can.

I don't get good feelings about loose packed ammo.  The Aussie ammo was 144 gr., berdan and mostly 80's and early 90's ammo.  The Indian ammo was also 80's production too.  The late 80's Aussie in the plastic packs had a bad rep for falling appart and that could be what this stuff is, busted packs.  Some one is going to have to take one for the team and give us some headstamp info. $85 for 500 + a can is about $0.16 per pop assuming a $5 can.

Would you by ammo from people who won't eat meat?

J/K

Seriously Indian ammo that came in in the last 2 years was total crap.  Dangerous even, it was surplused because it was arsenal rejects the powder charges were high and/or low, bent necks, split necks, and the ones that went off were very dirty and smokey and the POI was a crap shoot.

Do a search on the FAL Files and see how they thought about it.

As far as I know of there hasn't been any Paki ammo imported lately but the early stuff was corrosive and who wants that in a gas gun.

PD ammo is rejects too.  But it may be rejected because it look funny or something.   Buy it inspect it and try it and let us know.

I shoot the XM80 PD and have only encountered 1 dud in 500 (as a result of primer installed upside down).  The muzzle flash is huge on this ammo.

I have shot about 500 rds of the Paki. ammo. No problems at all. Century has it for $139 and  $12 shipping. Dealer price is $119 .I liked it so much I bought 4000 rds.I remember when the Singapore stuff was $160 shipped for 1600 rds at Dan's.

I've got a pile of split necks and a total case head separation sitting on my workbench from Pakistani ammo.

It only takes 1 to blow your gun up.
