Well, I recieved my substitute ammo today from Sportsmans Guide.

"Sapsan" is the name on the box, with picture of a Falcon.
marked,.223 rem. 55 gr. FMJ LCB made in Russia.

Looks like old Wolf type ie.red sealer on bullet and primer, green laquer case.

Any input or more info?

Thank you

Yuck. I saw a picture of 7.62x39.

How many rounds did you order and how many rounds of this stuff were sent as "replacement" ?

Original order was for 1200 rnds,

I cancelled order after the email everyone on this board received. I took a chance on 500 rnds for 42.00. My AR's all eat wolf ammo, so I thought what the heck. I guess I'll find out soon.

I'll let you know.

Wow. [:O] $84/1000 for .223 ammo. That's cheap. I hope there's not $20 less quality control in it than Wolf, and Wolf is certainly treading on thin ice when it comes to reliability in AR's. I'm certainly glad you're experimenting with your rifle.

I had a 5.00 off coupon and she cut a little slack on the price and included the shipping.

I have one AR that I shoot "experimental" ammo through.

Sapan is Uly. I don't know about the .223, but in the commie calibers, it is very good ammo, below Barnaul, but far better than Wolf.

I have shot a little over 500 rnds with no problems.

This stuff does not smell and is more accurate than Wolf.

Good blasting ammo
