I picked up a bunch of the made in Isreal Q3131A and am curious whether this is milspec ammo.

Is this the same as the M193 that IMI offers? Any details would be appreciated as I'm not very familiar with the Q3131A, and only heard that it is supposed to be nice stuff.

Thanks,

Josh

It's milspec.

Virtually same as M193.  Made for Winchester in Israel...get all you can & then some.

Yes, Q3131A is mil-spec. It's some of my favorite ammo. [:)]

It is made in Israel by a maker contracted by Winchester, IIRC. I'm not sure if IMI makes their own M193 or not, but this is just as good as anything they make.

Enjoy!

P.S. If you buy in bulk, don't pay more than $0.20 a round for it.

I ran some Q3131A through my chronograph, and it was not up to M-193 spec. The average was 3166 ft./sec.  M-193 spec. is 3250 ft./sec. IIRC. Q3131A is some great stuff though. Very consistant, and accurate. If I did not make my own ammo, I would use this stuff.

I concur with Vaportrail; I ran some thru my Oehler 35p and only got a little over 3100 fps.
Same with Federal XM193...
