Does anyone have a link or know offhand the stats on this ammo?

I am looking to make a few ballistic charts for my weapon and need the specs on this stuff.

Thanks,

I shot some SA in a 26" barreled Savage bolt action, at the muzzle it was ~3400fps.  Just thought you guys might like to know that.

This is 80s stuff (20 years old). Is it safe and reliable enough to shoot still?

What I mean is, can the stuff be good enough to plink around, or is it a danger?

I think it's great stuff and very accurate. I shot 2700 rounds of the stuff and had zero problems. If you find some at a decent price jump all over it[;)]

Great ammo - Has been very scarce for the last 12 months.  Sportsmans Guide said they will have some crates available around September 1, but we may have seen the last of the 300 rnd Battlepacks.

I just ordered two sets of 500rds. Sportsman's Guide listed them in stock. I hope they really are...

how do they sell it in 500 round packages? it comes in sealed 300rnd packs. do they rip these open to make odd numbers? that seems strange.

Read the fine print.

They won't have them in stock until Sept 22, 03

D'oh! I'm a loon... I was going to order it but it wasn't in stock so I ordered the FMJ 55gr M193. It is too late and I am too tired.

Apparently we have seen the last of the 300 rnd Battlepacks from SG.  I tried ordering 600 rnds (2packs) on Saturday.  On Sunday after checking the old savings account I decided I would go for broke and order a 2700 rnd tub.  On Monday I got an out of stock email from SG on the 600 rnd order, but nothing on the 2700 rnds.  Today I check my pending order and it says it will ship Sept 29th. Being the doubter I am I called to verify.  The customer service rep. told me yes that my order was pending and would be shipped as soon as it came in.  No battlepacks of 300, but the 2700 rnd order was vaild.  Wooohooo!!!!

3242 fps out of a 20" RR (average of 6 shots).  3.5" group @ 200 yds from bench with bipod only.  Not bad for 20 year old ammo.
