You asked recently the same question in the AR Discussion forum... Use a 55gr SP. The 52gr HP might be a choice, as you can load 3300 fps? via info in book and maybe keep some velocity w/7.5". I need to get ahold of chrono and test my loads from my 11.5 and 7.5".

I like your micro CAR!
I like the can, too...thats my next acquisition, but I gotta save up the extra $200 for the feds to let me have one. I know I asked the question in the general forum...did not get many responses, trying here now. Some people say move to 7.62x39, some say use the 77 grainer in 5.56. Another group says skip rifle carts altogether and build a 9mm or a .45 Too many choices. I guess I am information overloaded! Thanks! |

How about Polymer tipped 40-55 gr. ammo? It shall go fast from shorter barrel. And fragment even better as it was designed for fast frag.

Nosler Ballistic Tip, Hornady V-Max, Hornady A-Max might serve, Winchester offers in their line a Combined Technology (black/silver Ballistic Tip).

I'm mostly a handgunner, so forgive me when I say that the coolest 7.5 inch AR would be in .45 ACP. Is it even possible to get a .45 upper?

I have seen them, but they always cost alot more than 5.56 uppers. Colt, and Olympic both make them.
I can afford one in 7.62 x 39mm, though. I think I like the ballistic tip bullets....They look cool, and do some serious slap damage. Thanks all! |
