I came across some IMI .45 ACP, 230 grain, for $10 a box (50 rds.) at a local gun shop. I just wanted to know if this seems to be an okay price and if anyone has used and/or reloaded them. $10 a box of 50 doesn't seem too shabby, but I have never used their .45's. Thanks.

I have used both IMI ball ammo and their 185 grain JHP ammo in my Glock G-30 and Colt 1911 for years with no malfunctions.  I do not reload so I can offer you no guidiance there.

The central US distributer for this ammo is....http://www.botach.com/IMI/IMIAmmo/45%20ACP%20230gr%20FMJ.htm

.
You may wish to do a search regarding this vendor prior to placing an order...I will state that I have had only good experiances.

Regards,
Gary

10 dollars  per box of 50 is a good price for 45 ammo.
IMI makes quality ammo, they just save money on packaging and advertising.

A major cost factor in .45ACP is shipping -- a case of 1000 is darn near twice as heavy a a case of 5.56mm.  When you compare prices compare shipped or on the shelf prices.  Anything under $200/1000 is usually a good deal.

Just for the fun of it I inquired on the shipping-in the $7-10 range for one box of ammo, I didn't even inquire about a case quote. I'll get a couple of boxes from The Gun Shop and check them out maybe this weekend. I am assuming that they are boxer primed, because it is brass cased, but I'll wait and see.

Brass case can be Boxer (US market) or Berden (the rest of the world) primed.  Case doesn't mean one or the other.
