I've never had any problems with Israeli ammo (IMI). I'm sure I have some 556 stashed somewhere now.

Not that it matters, but how old is it and what kinda shape? If it's good, you're good.

IMI M193 is my favorite.

However, I have read many reports of earlier lots this year of M193 having popped primer issues.

I've not experienced issues in a half case or so of recent production of 193 and 855

Thanks for the input.  I'm thinking it's worth a try.

Edit: it's 500 rds so not overly invested in it.

Yeah I think its worth picking up a half case.  PPU has been pretty cheap lately if you can find that instead.  I got a bunch of 193 for 5.99/20 and 855 for 6.49/20

I think LC 855 after rebate has been as low as 26cpr lately too

I've been going through a modest amount of imi m193 the past few years.  About a 1000 rounds or so per summer.  No issues and pretty accurate.

I shoot IMI M193, M855, and 77 gr Razor Core. Never had a popped primer or other issue. They are fairly hot loads, but I've been through thousands of rounds. I love the stuff.

Shot a few hundred rounds this afternoon through a couple of AR's and didn't have any problems.  First time I have used IMI ammo.

I have used a couple thousand rounds each of IMI M855 and M193. Used to get the 1,200rd boxes every couple of weeks. Good shooting and great for storage. Yes, it is loaded hot, so no worries about cycling issues. Have had a few flattened primers (w/ M855) but none popped.

I have a case of IMI M193 and M855. Both are excellent. Do the Israelis make anything that is less than excellent?

I have used the newer stuff (green/brown boxes) in M855, M193 and their 7.62 ball and all has been great. Never really accuracy tested it as my AR is pretty basic anyway, but shoots fine and I can hit stuff.

they also had 1200 rounds for 309$  0.26cpr!

IME, it's equivalent to other m193, but runs hot.

Expect it to work just fine and produce groups on par with other brands of m193.

Fwiw I fo'd on the recent midway deal. Buy with confidence.

Was a big fan of Q3131A back in the day.

Ordered some IMI M193 on black Friday . Opened a box and see headstamp '16. Was hoping for '17. Hope this won't be an issue. This was from Sportsman Outdoors. Lot# 00279/G

Just ordered some IMI from midway. Will check headstamp when I get it.

GD is reporting a 16 stamp on the current Midway deal.  I'm gonna shoot it all vs stash it which was my initial plan.

I contacted IMI last night and got a response this morning. That's pretty damn quick.

Anyways, stated they checked their records on this lot and should be fine.

Looking forward to it.

It is not Q3131A.

Q3131A was made by IMI, as M193 spec, under a contract with Olin/Winchester.

This is IMI ammo made to M193 spec, but I would not say they are the same thing.  However, they are both M193 spec ammo.

Guys, there was only one reported lot of IMI M193 that people were experiencing high pressure signs such as blown primers and that was LOT 00211/G (I mispoke on another thread and said it was 212/G but I checked my notes and it was actually 211/G - '15 Headstamp).  I never did have any problems with either of those lots,  and they shot rather well for me accuracy wise.  About the same time, there were reports of similar high pressure issues regarding IMI Razorcore 77gr 5.56 ammo.  I don't know what LOT numbers were reported.

I shot up a case worth we’ll wallyworld cleared it a year or so back.

No issues, groups were ok, brass was decent.

Wolf gold runs better in my guns, so I haven’t been back.

I read that some IMI M855 had pressure issues (popping primers) but those appear to be pre 2017 lots.

I did not see anything on the M193.

I've not had any issues through about 400 rounds of M193, but I've had issues with the Razor Core 77gr severely flattening primers and even blowing a few

Can I get a confirmation on lot # 0211/g?

I have a decent amount of that in the toy bin for rainy days.

go out and shoot a mag full, you'll know then!

even though people did have problems with certain lots, other shoot it just fine. i am a prime example. i have a suspect lot of IMI and 3 of barrels shoot it fine, others not so much.

so go shoot your rifle! anything put away for a rainy day should be shot to determine function and POI anyway.

I had shot quite a bit of it, no troubles. That was 2 years ago though... but if the lot is considered bad, I'd like to know. Maybe to rotate it out of stock, or maybe IMI is doing exchanges or something.

Not everyone is rerarded.

Shot a hundred rounds of 300/G through a BCM 14.5" and FN PSA 16", primers all looked good,  didn't feel excessively hot.

It's probably okay ammo but the extra hot ammo in some of those threads scared me from buying any more.
I'm still working my way through a case that wasn't listed in the bad lot numbers, but it makes me nervous.

Don't you love it when the ammo you've stocked up on for SHTF turns out to have issues?

Now I shoot Wolf Gold, and keep a stash of it and Speer Gold Dots for hard times.
