...in an AR15 with a rimfire conversion kit?

The ammo is supposedly optimum with a 1-9" twist bbl.

I was considering getting a 1-9 twist bbl for the 10/22, or maybe a conversion unit, and shooting them out of an AR15.

Any of you guys "been there, done that" ?  Curious about accuracy.

Thanks,  MM

I tried them and was not impressed. Accuracy only so-so (although better than any "normal" .22 ammo) out of a 1:9 barrel, and these things cost me $4.75 a box of 50.

Plus which, they stink. Literally! They smell like a carnival food stand on fire.

Save your money for a dedicated .22 upper, or AT LEAST a 1:12 barreled upper to use with your conversion. Winchester Dynapoints shoot okay out of those.

They sucked in my marlin .22, as well as a friend's 10/22.

neither were 1:9 twist though.

I got blast out of the ejection port and accuracy was worse than any of the "normal" .22LR rounds in my 20" 1/9 twist.

Thanks for the good feedback from all.  I won't go down that road at all then.

Thanks,  Shane

Well, if you already HAD a conversion unit and a 1:9 AR, I'd say it would be worth trying a box--I did and I'm glad I tried so now I know. But I would NOT say that it is worth building up a whole project of any kind around this ammo.

When you use it out of a barrel with the proper twist(1/9.5) and not to mention bore size than it works nice.

I'v enot noticed a loss in accurecy really with regular .22 rounds either yet. But I don't get a chance to shoot the gun thats set up for the stuff all that often cuz it ain't mine(and it's a 10/22 not an AR).

Tried them in my DPMS AR,  got one mag through before they would bend trying to load when the bolt would close.  I do have run them in my P22 and my 22 Savage which run fine.  Another note
These things STICK.
