I will post a pic in a second!

EDIT: OK, here is a borrowed image as I don't have a pic of mine on my server (I'll update when I can get a pic on the web)

Details:  This (well if it was a pic of my gun) is my Colt R6600 which was my first AR-15.  She is a Green Label with the threaded barrel and bayonet lug.  I sold this gun back in 1999 before the Y2K crazyness and then manaaged to buy it back something like 6 years later when the person I sold it to relisted it for sale.  She doesn't get shot much anymore but she was my first AR-15 and I shot quite a few CMP matches with here back in the 1990s.

I have absolutely no idea where I got the mount from I don't believe it's Surefire though. That light is actually an Ultrafire 501B. Chances are that mount is some no-name one from ebay or amazon

There is one seller on Amazon right now with what appears to be complete Surefire 660 kits for $90 though here.

Kinda tempted to pick one up haha. They were like $250 when I built the rifle a few years ago.

Freakin awesome, greatly appreciated! Gonna pick one up now. Cheers

It just adds to the concealment......  in different backgrounds....  Really, I would think it would help to have it all hodgepodges.  More of a break up of your silhouette????

Wife calls this the "nostalgia gun" because I built it as a replica of the one I carried in OIF-II. Built on a PSA OIF lower receiver. There isn't a Colt or FN part on it, but it's 1/7" 20" chrome lined from Windham Weaponry. I like playing with my carbines and SBRs, but something about the A2 just feels like "home".

I really need to get a decent camera and work on photography skills. My ipotato just isn't cutting it anymore.

I was lucky enough to snag one of the FN parts kits that were available a while ago (everything except the lower receiver) and put together this clone of the rifle I carried on my deployment to Bosnia, including the sling and stock pouch I still had in one of my bags. The lower is from LRB.

My franken build.

Spare M&P lower with a shitty psa lower parts kit(not impressed with the quality). Has a BCM grip that I think came off one of my bcm lowers in place of an ergo grip and a magpul trigger guard I had lying around. The mil spec bufffer tube might have been a bcm take off, might have been one I had as a spare for longer(I can't remember). Upper is an american spirit arms with m4 feed ramps with the dust cover that I've had for years and never used(a friend stole the normal dust cover off the upper). Bolt is a spare BCM set, barrel is a centurion arms cold hammer forged chrome lined mid length. I don't remember where the ambi safety came from for this but I'm a lefty so yea.

The only parts I picked up for this were the barrel, handguard, gastube(because the one I had sitting around was messed up), and ctr stock which I figured I'd try again. Need to get out next week and sight it in.

Long term I think I'm going to throw an ergo on it as I don't really like the bcm grip. I also have a bcm lower with the PNT trigger in it that I'm going to replace with the larue 2 stage trigger for my mk12 mod 1 style build so chances are this will get that old trigger.

Originally I picked up the a2 upper for a 20 inch conversion and never did it. I wanted something simple as a throw around/truck gun. Figure this should fit the bill(it is also my only 16 inch ar-15).

I bought one of these for my first AR, which was a 20" A2. I no longer have the rifle, but I still have the case, and it houses my C7.

Let me be the first to welcome you here on AR15.com

However, friend, this is the wrong thread; this is specifically for A2 style AR15s (i.e., still with a carry handle and other peculiar features).

You want to re-post your rifle here:

Picked up a Primary Arms 30mm Classic Red Dot today, Mounted it in a period correct Aimpoint mount & Adapter. Added on an Aimpoint Rubber Lens Cover & Cap-Tether.
Still need to pick up a 2 or 3-point sling yet and maybe a Lancay M9 bayonet, but overall this is a circa 1999(ish) style A2 setup. Figure I'll swap out the Primary Arms Red Dot for a Comp M2 sometime down the road....maybe... as the M2's are getting to be hard to find as new-old-stock.

I am always envious of your guns and photography.  In a good way.  You just got really good stuff.  Or at least stuff that I like.  That's how you do KISS.

A guy at the range one time let me shoot his 5.45 krink and I've been in love with them since.  It had the coat hangar stock though.  Which I didn't mind as much as I thought I would.  Those are two beautiful blasters.

Agreed, it looks fantastic.

I would send it off to be cut to 14.7 (with the appropriate step down turned at the muzzle), then pinned and welded.

I would gladly use that build as my "go-to".

KAC Bipod Adapter
KAC QD Sling Swivel (opposite side, as I'm missing the sling side clamp)
PRI Charging Handle (05-0031)

Bottom
FN A2 upper
FN 20" A2 1:7 bbl
FN Bolt Carrier and Bolt
A2 Flash Hinder with crush washer
A2 handguards
NIB M1907 sling
PRI Charging Handle (05-0031, they were right there, standard CH are out in the parts bin)
(missing the index screw to finish the rear sight, on order)

Next build is to teach one of the Gunners Mates here how to build a M4A1 Block II, got a M16A4 upper here waiting on a A4 barrel (I'm assume the Front Sight Base is different from a A2, different NSNs) that will get the KAC M5 handguards.  Now to break them all down and put back in the parts bin.  Taking a break from working on miniguns this week.
