[Last Edit: PalmettoStateArmory]
Palmetto State Armory is pleased to announce the merger of NoDak Spud LLC into the JJE family of companies!
Effective Jan 3rd, NoDak Spud will become a subsidiary of Harrington & Richardson. Mike Wetteland, co-owner of NoDak Spud will become the CEO of the newly reformed H&R. Mike brings over 30 years of experience in the firearms industry to our team. As many of you know, Mike’s attention to detail and passion for Retro AR15’s has helped grow our hobby. NoDak Spud will cease all operations at their Edina MN facility Dec 23rd in order to complete ship outs before the end of the year. NoDak Spud will then be relocated to West Columbia SC. All customers that had backorders and/or were on the interested parties list for retro lowers/parts will be notified by Harlan via telephone or email. All NoDak Spud retro parts will be rebranded as H&R. Most of the other NDS products, such as Ruger rifle sights will still be produced. Please be patient as it will take time to spin production back up. NoDak Spud will continue to field calls and emails until we get the H&R website and staff up and running. PLEASE DO NOT call Palmetto State Armory to place pre-orders or make product inquiries as the customer service staff has not been brought up to speed yet. Please be assured that we will do our best to contact everyone on the NoDak lists to give them the opportunity to purchase H&R retro products. Thank you, -Josiah |

The small company is frequently successful because it will serve a market niche that large companies did not find profitable. A reason for that success is the investment in the cost of production and quality that results in a lower margin, but appeals to the market leaders that make the product popular. Within a year, the popular product is withdrawn and level of service quality declines - we shall see if this will be the exception.” In my opinion if you want something from Nodak buy it now. I bought an AK pistol from Palmetto State Armory and it was a gauntlet of BS to try and get them to repair it. Seriously, if there is a negative comment about Nodak’ quality I’ve yet to hear it. On the other hand to all you cheerleaders who think this is a wonder thing I suggest you read the comments about Palmetto State Armory (PSA) on the Better Business Bureau website or look at what people have stated on the “Ripoff Report” about PSA. I believe there will shortly be two kinds of Nodak products: those produced BEFORE PSA bought them out and those produced AFTER PSA bought them out and the prices will reflect that. You’ve been warned. |

Congratulations!
I am all about the Handi-rifle 2.0. The 16" .357 and .44 Mags were great little rifles. I am sure this will be a success and I look forward to seeing the H&R name brought back. |

To everyone suggesting products, we appreciate your input.
I already have a huge list of things we would like to do. Then there is the short list of what is going on right now. Some of which will be shared at SHOT Show. H&R is going to bring some cool things to market, I’m just not going to talk about them until they are ready. |

The early days in Blaine with DCI (Dan Coonan) were something else. Harlan had a tremendous reputation for customer service from our Federal Arms Corp days. It really helped us hit the ground running with the Yugoslav AK receivers. Here's me and Harlan at the SAR show in Phoenix 2005. Humble beginnings |

This part was really rough and needed some Mikey love. |

But anodized parts won’t happen again until we get settled in SC. As for lowers, we won’t have forgings until February. I don’t expect to have finished parts until late March at the earliest. |

Outside the AR Retro discussion - Is there tooling and other hard assets that were formerly H&R used in manufacturing that were acquired?
The old faithful H&R single shot shotguns as an example, licensing agreements for branded products (non-domestic shotguns, etc)? Things we saw over the last 10 years that were interesting but didn't have much innovation as sorted through the prism of a gun enthusiast - more corporate budget-based product offerings. For example a gun enthusiast at the helm would have innovated more from the platform - e.g. would have made a very poor man's judge from a 410 single shot H&R. There is a difference between equity and investment acquisitions - looks like PSA expects more innovation and is making this an investment. Very excited about this. Its a great old name - I'm sure you guys will revitalize it. |

Mike,
The lower looks amazing. To the naysayers, Both vendors are sponsors of the forum (the tool we all use) This will only result in a high quality retro product for a reasonable price that will fill a void in the market. Nodak will make quality products no matter where they are or what they are called. |

In the spirit of freedom site sponsorship should have 0 bearing on anything... sponsorship is just advertising space. There have been a ton of companies over the years that have gone down the tube after an acquisition, so there is validity in that side of the argument. I remain hopefully optimistic, but let others voice their own opinions. I wish them good luck and hope on quality products for years to come. |

I’m deeply disappointed that I won’t be able to complete my T91 clone lower as a result of this.
Obviously I can engrave an A2 lower with the correct markings, but it will always bother me. |
