What kind of hand guard is that? by Ry Jones, on Flickr Noticed it in the credits for a tv show about Australians at war, so it's probably Australian kit. Looks square or triangular with finger grooves. |

No finger grooves, that's a standard, shiny set of triangle handguards.
What looks like grooves is just reflections on the guards. |

I found an email for the curator of the collection the tv show is based on, and I sent them a note asking for the original.
If you go here and search for Armalite, M16, AR15, or just take a look, there's tons of interviews with veterans of pretty much every war Australia has fought in. Tons of pictures, a sweet shot of some dual belt feds in a helicopter, lots of BAR shots. |
