Why not buy an A1 lower now (or even an A2) and sell it when the NDS lowers are available???

Thanks for all the kind words.
Based on the experience with the A1 and 601 forgings so far, I would bet the new XM forgings will be worth the wait. Hell, it's driving me nuts  too.

Only bashing allowed is for financial reasons.
NDS is making it hard for me to feed my family. "Hey, quite complaining about being hungry, NDS is coming out with a 605 upper soon. Now go to bed, you can have supper tomorrow night!" |

After 1970 M16A1's had full fence lowers anyhoo so build a modern lower up to hold you over then later on get a Retro lower ?

Personally, I always grew up wanting an SP1, so the 601 lower always sticks out in my mind as what a vietnam M16 should look like, even if it's not historically accurate. In other words, just like the folks who buy tricked out M4s, I think the slabside lowers look cool.

Becasue that would be correct for an XM16E1, many of the E1s were upgraded in the field to A1 standards - but the lower remained the same. The M16A1 I was issued in the 80s had a full fence lower, hence I built my retro that way. |
