I know this waaaay out there, and pretty much everyone goes with a single point sling to carry their pistol, but has anyone ever made a holster for their AR pistol?  Or even less likely, does someone make a holster for these monstrosities?

We had talked about having a pistol holster built.  I have tried to contact one place, but no response.  I finally got another contact yesterday, so we'll see where that goes.  The holster we were using for ideas was:

I did a little research and I think that might be a "guarder" brand M4 thigh holster.  I will see if I can find any airsoft distributors who carry it, or possibly the manufacturer's webpage.

That would be very cool and totally impractical for an AR pistol!

Cool - if we can get it without having to have it made, sweet.  We had a discussion over HERE about it and came to the conclusion that it was built by a company overseas, and was discontinued.

What about that thing Blackhawk makes for prison guards so they can secure their long guns while messing with prisoners ?  Anybody know what I'm talking about ?

LOOK WHAT I FOUND Three differant holster type things for subguns that you wear on your belt. They all show AR-15's in the holsters.

Cool. I need to buy an AR pistol for my birthday but one thing holding me back was finding a holster rig.

The thing I don't like about the holder in the links above is that it doesn't retain the weapon.  It clamps onto it, but nothing holds it secure.  I'd prefer one like the picture above.

Eagle use to make a shoulder rig for AR's, HK SP-89/MP 5 K, and so on. They stopped a few years back. It cost around 80.00 to 90.00 $. I bought one and used it in the Philippines with a XM-177E2 with a 10.5 barrel. It worked great. When I returned and called Eagle to reorder I was told they dont make them any more. They only make the sholder rig for HK SP 89/MP5K. and they sell them to HK only. If you can find the HK rig you can use it for the AR Pistols. Just change the double mag pouch to the AR mags.

I managed to pick one up right after they went out of production.  I called up Eagle, and they actually searched the warehouse- they managed to find one in the back along with a spare weapon attachment and I bought it.  A nifty rig- allows for an AR with 2 mags in an offhand side pouch.  The pouch also works with 20 round AK mags, when I have my AK finshed I am going to put my E German folder stock on it and try it on the Eagle shoulder rig.

I'll post pics when I get my AR pistol finished jsut so eveyone can see how the rig works. If enough people were interested I bet we could get Eagle to make a small run of them...

Anyone have a connection at Eagle?

Try contacting Gregg @ AMS in Longmont, CO

They did the shoulder rigs for the 8 inch M16's that went to Qatar.....

I think he might do some more.

They considered anything less than 500 units a short run.

I iwll point out once again that Eagle is still making the shoulder holster rigs, they just aren't marketing them.  If someone got up the gumption to call and explain that they could get, say 10 or 20 together for an order, it would not suprise me if Eagle would do it.

I laready got one, so I don't really need another, but good luck to you guys!

[ETA]  Keith, do you know the source of that wacky AR pistol holster on your picture?

I actaully was looing at Harbor Freight and Lowes the other day, and I don't think it would be too hard to adapt a power drill holster to hold the AR pistol.  Once I have tested my pistol i plan on seeing if I can find a drill holster that might fit pretty closely...

The main thing is to find a holster that dones't have a forward cant, and that preferably is slit in the backside so to magazine can stick out a bit.  Then it is just a matter of lengthening the securing strap and it should be GTG.
