Thanks to wulf50guy & MAINEiac
The .50 Beowulf is manufactured by Alexander Arms LLC: www.alexanderarms.com phone#: (540) 639 8356 mailing address: Alexander Arms LLC US Army, Radford Arsenal PO Box 1 Radford, VA 24143 Dealers: Competition Shooting Sports , who can also be contacted through their board in the Industry Forum at AR15.com Arne Brennan of CSS, aka "TX65" , is an Industry Partner on AR15.com Hallmark Small Arms is an authorized dealer selling complete rifles, uppers, parts, and ammunition. You can email Steve @ [email protected] or call him @ 804.986.7409. "Arms & Ammo" sell as "helmeister" on gunbroker.com and have been known to offer among the lowest prices on Beowulf uppers. Other Beowulf dealers can be found on the Alexander Arms web site. Available Configurations: complete rifles or just uppers with 16" and 24" barrels. All are flat tops with a "picatinny" top front sight base. Flash suppressors/muzzle brakes: Alexander Arms makes a muzzle brake which sells for about $180.00. I have heard from some individuals that they feel it is not effective, or at least does not offer $180 worth of effectiveness. I have no personal experience with it. TROMIX is offering M16 A1 style flash suppressors which will apparently fit Beowulfs: weaponforums.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=121&t=201783 weaponforums.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=121&t=200740 Kurts Kustom Firearms may also be a place to look for a muzzle brake or flash suppressor: www.kurtskustomfirearms.citymax.com/catalog/item/29585/1843.htm weaponforums.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=121&t=195559 Forends: The Beowulf uses a "midlength" gas tube and hand guard. Several manufacturers make replacement handguards with picatinny attachment points. These include the ARMS SIR model 58M and Predator P9, both of which free float the barrel. Also the Armalite Alostyr: Discussion Link which does not free float the barrel but is less expensive and does not require removing the barrel for installation. There are others as well: Other Forends, Other Forends 2 Lower Receiver Compatibility: A .50 Beowulf upper can be installed on any AR15 lower. At one time Alexander Arms used Rock River Arms lowers, but now uses a different vendor. Bill Alexander told me that there are no brands of lowers that he recommends to use or not to use, but pointed out that the Alexander Arms' lowers came with ".50 Beowulf" printed on the side. Buffers: The Beowulf functions fine with the stock buffer/spring setup. "wulf50guy" reports good results with the MGI Rate Reducing Buffer: Butt stocks, pads: The Beowulf is a "high energy" round. As such, some have found the full size M16 A2 stock to be most comfortable considering the recoil. "wulf50guy" has a Bell&Carlson thumb hole pistol grip stock. I like my Vltor with rubber butt pad. Tony Rumore of Tromix points out possible issues with the collapsible stocks. Magazines: Alexander Arms says that the Beowulf will function with standard USGI mags, with a capacity of 7 rounds in a GI 20 and 10 rounds in a GI 30. Some have found that Thermold 30 rd mags work well. Interestingly, the higher capacity mags made by Leitner-Wise for their L-W .499 apparently function in the .50 Beowulf. Optics:Optics Thread 1 --- Optics Thread 2 Hunting: Several AR15.COM members report great success hunting with the Beowulf. Military/law enforcement/homeland defense: The photo referenced in the following thread was originally posted on the MSTN site... Thread 1 , Thread 2 , Thread 3 Reloading:Some discussions of reloading for the .50 Beowulf. General .50 Beowulf discussions: Thread 1 , Thread 2 , Thread 3 , Thread 4 , Thread 5 , Thread 6 , Thread 7 |

SHIVAN,
Just a note to let you know that the Alexander Arms muzzle brake kit has dropped in price to $68.00 for 2005. Volume has picked up this year to the point that manufacturing costs have dropped and Alexander Arms is passing through the cost savings. Arne Competition Shooting Sports. |

Never really noticed this since I didn't get to far past the info, but I wanted to give credit where credit is due. MAINEiac did the majority of the work and research on this. I just kind of went through and helped check all the links and make sure it all worked and inputted a few things. W50G |

I just spoke with Alexander Arms.
A threaded version will be out soon. The comp won't need to be glued on anymore. Although they say the glued version has had no problems I prefer threaded. |
I kind of wouldn't mind a threaded version myself.
May wait that one out for my new one. |
maybe this is the reason for the price drop? theres always a price drop when it's about to be replaced |
There will be a manufacturers rebate on the Beowulf and Grendel - $50 on rifles/$25 on uppers – on purchases from April 15, 2005 through July 30th, 2005.

I just spoke to a lady at Alexander Arms and she told me the threaded version is just a rumor and they are not going to produce any beowulfs with threaded barrels |

Ask TX65...he says they will...and that is who I am buying one from when they do... .....honest www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=12&t=233448 |

hi, i am wondering as to if there will be a OA-93 variant of the beowulf and when it could be expected.
a pistol .50 beowulf |

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Anyone know if Alexander Arms is going to waste some time and put out a .50 Beowulf t-shirt? That would be cool to wear! I would score one or two in a second. It is good that they don't waste time with froofroo crap though and just design and build great weapons, but I wish they had a t-shirt!! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- +1 |
I'd rather see'em put out CARBIDE sizing dies than a t-shirt (although I'd buy one of those too if it has a pocket...)

Yes Midwayusa, Impactguns, CSS ant |
I'm going to be building a Savage Striker for the Beowulf over the winter, and I don't think it will be too horrid to shoot with a brake. Surely can't be any worse than shooting a .480 Ruger or .500 S&W. |
Just for the idea I have a BFR revolver chambered in the Beowulf, my only observation is that it certainly focuses one's attention when you touch the trigger, but it is a pussycat compared to the 500 S&W. Might be the ideal home defense gun though. I have a 7 1/2" barrel on mine but I have set up guns with 6" barrels as well.
