I just bought two brand new- never fired outside the factory, Smith and Wesson Sport II barrels. Guy bought two brand new rifles and wanted them converted to .300 Blackout. So the store pulled the barrels and installed new ones. I got the barrel, front sight tower and FH. They re used the handguards and the gas tube for the .300's.

Barrels are 16", melonited, 1/9 twist, 4140 Steel, 5.56 Chambers.

Bought them dirt cheap.

Any good?

$80 for the pair? Hell no.  Would rather the 1:7 twist but my 1:9 in my 6721 works fine.

Yes, $80 for the pair. The "gunsmith" at the shop is a buddy of mine and he "up graded" the guy to a pair of Magpul carbine handguards and did the labor on the swap in exchange for the guy leaving him the barrels. So, he really didn't have much in them, hell, one of the hand guards was used...(they swapped the take off's onto a couple of guns at the shop they had out for sale, one had a beat front and the other had the Magpul they swapped the guy on it).....and since the guy bought the .300 barrels from them they normally wouldn't have charged him anyway.

I'll stash them away for the next (likely permanent) ban.....that way I can shoot LONG into the future.

They're pretty decent barrel so for $80 you stole them.

My M&P15 in 300 BLK has one of the melonited barrels and it has been awesome. It is very accurate. I'm guessing the 223 barrels you have will be the same.

I have an MP 15 Sports and it shoots well.
