Yes, I understand that the 1-12 twist barrels were meant for use with 55 grain and lighter bullets.  But what about 55gr WOLF that is only making 2800 fps at the muzzle?  Will it still fire accurately in an upper using a surplus pencil barrel?

Ya got no problem w/ 55grn bullets,  (at any velocity) in a 1/12 twist rifle.

ETA - provided it clears the muzzle,

I'm not looking for sub-MOA accuracy, I just want to know if I will get reasonable accuracy out of a surplus M16A1 barrel and WOLF.  I am definately not trying to start another pointless WOLF debate.

The last time I chrono'd Wolf Poly 55 fmj through an A1 20" I got about 2830 fps or so.  There have been no stabilization issues.  I get about 4 to 4.5 MOA with irons.  1:12 will also stabilize the (even slower) Wolf 62 gr FMJ which is not a steel core projectile.
