Anybody know when Colt started putting "L" in front of the serial number prefix

As with the Tactical Carbines and the BDXXXXX  prefix going to LBDXXXXX,

I know there were 134 that made it thru under the ban but when did they start marking them LEO or Restricted......

Date or serial number range?

I believe the "L" designates a LE/Gov't built in pre ban configuration after 1994. I have an LE A3 Tactical Carbine which starts LBDXXXX

134 made it out as a pre ban, mine is 2XXX something, has all the pre ban stuff.
just want to know how close to pre ban it is and when they started marking them "Restricted" and "LBDXXXXXX"

Well, you are right that 134 made it out as pre bans, everything after was either post ban or LEO. What is the twist rate, and barrel configuration. Is it stamped 1x9  HBAR with C MP 5.56 NATO?

I'm thinking you may have an upper that is not original to the lower. With that high of a SN I'm very curious.

I know of one local XXX200ish. Screw front pivot with pinned block.

BTW: Anyone know if Colt has plans on resuming non-leo marked 6721's or 6920's in the future with other than LBD S/N prefix?

I found out when it was made, Early 1995,
Colt  started marking  the LEO's Restricted and with the "L" prefix in late 95 to early 96

Hey Tree-Rat

Any chance you noticed if that reciever was stamped restricted on the right side?

How 'bout the "BD" or "LBD" prefix?
